Three out of Lund University’s four most cited scientists are research leaders at MultiPark, according to Clarivate’s report for this year.

The highly anticipated annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science™ citation index.

At Lund University, four researchers are among the top-cited in the world. Three of them lead successful research groups at the strategic research area MultiPark, focusing on multidisciplinary research in neurodegenerative disorders.

Congratulations to:

Oskar Hansson (Read about his research on biomarkers and BioFINDER)

Sara Linse (Read about her research in Molecular protein science)

Niklas Mattsson-Carlgren (Read about his research in computational neuroscience)

"I am very grateful that our research is receiving international attention, and I think it is exciting that 3 of the 4 highly cited researchers at LU focus on Alzheimer's disease and also work together within the strategic research area in neuroscience (MultiPark) at Lund University", says Oskar Hansson.

“My research focuses on Alzheimer's disease, which is an area of big interest. Right now, I am sitting on a panel for the European Research Council, where we are clearly asked to evaluate the content of the research rather than citations. But of course it's fun to know that someone reads our articles and finds our results interesting”, says Sara Linse.

“It is of course rewarding both for me and our research group that we have had so much impact. The ranking is a proof that what we do at Lund University in Alzheimer's research and other neuroscience is important. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the university and the faculty for the opportunities I have had for research here. I hope and believe that Lund University will continue to invest in maintaining leading neuroscience research”, comments Niklas Mattsson-Carlgren.

Another successful researcher on Clarivate’s list is Patrik Brundin, now directing his research team at the Van Andel Institute, but previously one of the leading researchers initiating MultiPark as a strategic research area at Lund University.
