What if brain diseases could be cured by turning on the proper genes? Meet our scientist, Professor Cecilia Lundberg! She explains how gene therapy may complement cell therapies to combat Parkinson’s disease.

Cecilia Lundberg is head of the CNS Gene Therapy Research Group and has spent her whole career developing cutting-edge tools that may be used in future therapies to slow down or cure neurodegenerative diseases. The latest episode of MultiPark’s podcast delves into how gene editing tools, large human biobanks, and multi-omic data are paving the way to identify promising gene candidates for conditions like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. She also reflects on the challenges of translating genetic discoveries into clinically safe, cost-effective gene therapies.
