Sapphire imaging platform

MultiPark has acquired a Sapphire imager and a dedicated license for Sapphire imaging data analysis.

Equipment features: Laser scanning systems, the Sapphire Biomolecular Imager, which delivers the following imaging modalities with higher sensitivity (protein detection in the femtogram range):

  • Bright-field and Multiplex fluorescent detection
  • Chemiluminescent imaging

Sapphire Biomolecular Imager has four solid-state lasers (488, 520, 658, and 784 nm), offering excitation sensitivity at the image resolution down to 10 micrometers.

The imager is equipped with a photomultiplier tube for fluorescence and phosphor imaging, avalanche photodiodes for near-infrared imaging, and a CCD sensor for chemiluminescent and visible imaging.

In addition, users may use this software Sapphire imaging data to perform fluorescent signal quantification.

To learn more about the Sapphire imager, please visit the official page: Azure Sapphire Biomolecular Imager - Azure Biosystems

Accessing and using the workstation
The workstation is located in BMC room B1131b. There is no formal introduction to using the system nor specialized personnel. However, it is important that the user get familiarized with the Sapphire imager manual, the pdf file is stored on the PC desktop.

To gain access to the room and obtain basic details about using the workstation, including login information, please use the online booking system: sappire_imager [at] resourece [dot] lu [dot] se or contact: oxana [dot] klemetnieva [at] med [dot] lu [dot] se or anna [dot] hammarberg [at] med [dot] lu [dot] se.

Booking and pricing
There is an online booking of the system; to book the instrument, please use the online calendar: sappire_imager [at] resourece [dot] lu [dot] se.
