On October 30, MultiPark arranged, in collaboration with the Parkinson Skåne patient organization and Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan, a half-day study visit for the public to the Biomedical Center. Professor Angela Cenci Nilsson led the event and guided the audience through the afternoon.

The chair of Parkinson Skåne gave a brief presentation of their organization, followed by talks by two persons afflicted by Parkinson's disease, who shared their experience of living with the disease. Four young scientists talked about why they chose to work on Parkinson´s disease and what they aim to achieve with their research, and during the coffee break the visitors got a chance to discuss directly with the young scientists.

The day concluded with guided tours to several research laboratories, where the researchers explained the main topics of the research carried out in that laboratory. Both the young scientists and the visitors expressed great appreciation of the event, and suggested to organise similar activities on a regular basis.
