Research Unit for Clinical Parkinson Research

The Research Unit for Clinical Parkinson Research facilitates research projects related to Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders. The research unit is located at the Wigert building (ground level; Remissgatan 4, Skane university hospital, Lund), with access to 9 office rooms and 4 rooms for clinical examinations. The research unit consists of research coordinators, trained research nurses and medical doctors. The unit is well equipped concerning know-how and equipment for clinical and translational research related to Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders (commercial as well as non-commercial studies). A large number of academic and commercial studies have been completed or are ongoing. Phase I-IV studies have been performed; the research unit has capacity for all steps in studies, including protocol development, applications to EC and MPA, performance of the studies, statistical evaluation and publication.

Twice a year, PIs can apply for using research nurses for the periods January to June and July to December, respectively. Applications (application form) are sent to research coordinator Stina Jonasson (Stina [dot] BladhJonasson [at] skane [dot] se). PIs pay 50% of the salary of the research nurses in case of non-commercial studies and 100% in case of commercial or EU-financed studies.

The Research Unit for Clinical Parkinson Research is financed by MultiPark and the Swedish Parkinson Academy. The Swedish Parkinson Academy (https://svenskaparkinsonakademien.se) is financed by Olle Engkvists Stiftelse.
