Infrastructure for clinical Parkinson research

The Multipark-supported clinical research infrastructure is located in the Wigert building of Skåne University Hospital, Lund. It is co-supported from the Swedish Parkinson Academy.

It consists of six full-time Parkinson research nurses, two research coordinators, and one part-time research doctor (specialist in Neurology). The unit is lead by Professor Per Odin. It is well-equipped concerning localities, and equipment for performing translational and clinical research on Parkinson´s disease and other movement disorders. A large number of academic and commercial studies have been performed, and are under way. Phase I-IV studies have been performed and capacity is there for all steps in studies, including protocol development, applications to EC and MPA, performance of the studies, statistical evaluation and publication.
