Frontiers in Neuroscience Seminar: "Upstream pathogenesis in FTD/ALS"

Welcome to a talk by Professor Bill Seeley
Professor of Neurology and Pathology at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center
Lecture title: "Upstream pathogenesis in FTD/ALS"
Bio-sketch:
Professor Seeley is a behavioral neurologist who specializes in neurodegenerative dementia. His lab has taken a leading role in identifying the neuron types, brain regions, and large-scale networks targeted in frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Their current work seeks to translate these discoveries, using a blend of neuroanatomy, neuroimaging, and cellular/molecular biology, into improved disease pathogenesis models and novel biomarker approaches. In 2008, professor Seeley founded the UCSF Neurodegenerative Disease Brain Bank (NDBB), which now includes tissue from more than 800 donors.
Lecture host: Associate Professor Alexander Santillo
